The book. Murs et frontieres dans l’Europe de Demain.

Durant 4 jours, dans un loft une vingtaine de jeunes issus des quatre coins de la Communauté française de Belgiqeu ont participé au projet “FotoStory 2 – The Loft” : un atelier en résidance d’expression citoyenne et médiatique à travers la création de romans-photos. Les jeunes ont conjugué techniques scénaristiques et prises de vue photographiques dans le but d’élaborer un point de vue critique et jeune sur le thème “Murs et frontières dans l’Europe de demain”. Passport. What borders do you cross to be free?

All over the world people have nationalities, passports and borders. Borders in their mind or to their physical capabilities. To figure out how life is without it, I decided that the paths of my passaport and I should split. I sent it out to the world, so that it could travel on its own from person to person. I put a small letter inside, asking everyone to document their encounters and confrontations with borders. Instead of uniformed officers who put stamps and stickers to document passagers of borders, I figured that I’d rather have people put their boder-crossing experience on the passport pages. The result of these processes and experiences you now have in your hand. In this book, I’ve collected my own diary notes, emails from friends, actions reports, posters and of course, writings from my passport (which eventually got back to me).
